Leadership Team Report
Hi Everyone,
ANZAC
On Friday 22 April, Jones Hill School honoured the memory of our ANZAC's with a special parade. Student leaders, Charlotte K and Flynn O, wrote and read a tribute dedicated to the fallen men and women. Aurora D and Grace P then read an ANZAC poem. Thank you to Taylah S, Taylor R and Declan J who also took part in our ANZAC parade. The parade was then lucky enough to hear from Brian Trickey from the Sub Branch of the Gympie RSLA, who spoke to us about the role and sacrifice that nurses made during the time of war. The Last Post and Reveille was played by past student Jamie Lee Griffith. Mr Watt and Mrs Grogan would like commend the students on their excellent behaviour during the parade and to the student leaders for their hard work and huge effort in preparing for the day and delivering wonderful speeches.
We would also like to warmly thank all the students and parents who joined us Monday for the ANAZC Day Dawn Service and ANZAC Day March down Mary Street. It was wonderful to see so many in attendance and once again the student's behaviour was exceptional.

NAPLAN
NAPLAN tests for Year 3 and 5 students will take place on the 10th, 11th and 13th of May. Children have been well prepared for the tests and should not be anxious. A good night's sleep and breakfast in the morning will ensure they are best prepared for the day. Please see Helen Grogan or Stacey Seed if you have any concerns or questions about the testing period. It is most important that students are present on the day unless previous arrangements have been organised.
The answers for this week's questions are available by selecting the link below.

Canberra
Students from our school will soon be undertaking an educational tour of the national capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia's history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $60 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
