Leadership Team Report
Hi Everyone,
Dance Fever Lessons
If your child is not attending Dance Fever Lessons you will need to make an appointment to see the principal as soon as possible. Dance Fever is curriculum based (as is swimming) and will be in the report card for Semester Two. If you have not paid for these lessons yet please do so soon as possible. If you are having trouble paying you may make a payment plan through the school office.
Canberra Trip
Thank you to all the parents for the kind words regarding the Canberra Trip. It is difficult to describe in words just how beneficial this trip was to the students who attended. Not only was it amazing fun but it was a lifelong learning activity. We've had more than one parent tell us that they can see a change in their child's growth!
This experience is designed to be an interactive learning pedagogical experience. In our language this means the immersing of students in the world of learning by means of role playing, interactive games, as well as physically visiting educational places. You just need to see the photos on our Facebook page to see the learning that was being achieved. Students were engaged in learning well past the hours of a normal school day and with no complaints. It would be impossible to teach these lessons in the classroom. The ability to live for a week away from family and the security of routine was invaluable. The children were highly engaged from start to finish.
As parents you can be very proud of these achievements in your children. Their behaviour was exemplary both at the accommodation and in public. We were most proud to receive compliments from both the public and exhibitors on our student's excellent behaviour and interaction in lessons. Their behaviour is a great reflection on both you as parents and our school.
Once again, thank you for entrusting us with your children. It was an absolute pleasure as well as an adventure for us all to take these students on this amazing journey.
Canberra Medication
Parents who sent medication on the Canberra Trip for their children will need to pick these up from our office staff. We are unable to send medication home with students.
Opinion Surveys
School Opinion Surveys are undertaken each year by the Department of Education and Training to obtain opinion information from parents/caregivers, students and school staff. The surveys are designed to help schools identify what they do well and how they can improve. Responses are confidential.
Opinions on the school, student learning and student well-being are sought from a parent/caregiver in all families and a sample of students from each state school.
Additional information about the surveys is located on the Frequently Asked Questions page and previous survey results are located on the results page.

The 2016 School Opinion Survey will close 29 July 2016. So please let us know how you feel. If you do not know how to access the surveys please contact the school office.
Kind Regards,
James Watt and Helen Grogan

Envelope Orders: photos can also be purchased in the traditional manner using an envelope, with cash/cheque enclosed. Please send your envelope to school on or before photo day.

Camp Australia News
Last week at outside school hours care was Arctic Week..... we looked into different animals that live in the snow and also how to make an igloo. The children chose the animals they wanted to learn about and activities were based around these ideas. The children enjoyed reading about Polar Bears, Penguins, the Blue Whale, the Orca Whale, Snow Leopard and Grey Wolf to find out interesting facts about them.
