LEADERSHIP TEAM REPORT

Hi Everyone,

Our last 8 days of the 2018 school year are going to be very busy as we head towards the Christmas break. Tomorrow night, December 6 we will hold our annual Awards Night, celebrating the success of our school and students throughout the year. The night starts at 7pm in our School Hall. This is a great night to acknowledge and celebrate success. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Next week we will farewell our year 6 students as they embark on their transition to high school and the next chapter of their educational journey. Our school leaders for 2018 have been fantastic representatives of the strong values and standards of Jones Hill. They have led events and fundraising, supported staff and students and worked hard to become great role models. Graduation will be held on Monday 10 December in our School Hall, starting at 5pm.

We have been busy reading report cards this week before they go home to families next Wednesday. We have been impressed and proud of how many students have succeeded at the goals they have set and worked to their potential. They should be proud of the effort they have put in this year. Congratulations to all our students for the hard work you have shown this year. This is also a strong reflection on the work our teachers and teacher aides have done to achieve such success.

Class lists for 2019 will be placed on the notice boards under the old administration building next Wednesday. Students and parents are welcome to view the board for their class placements from Wednesday.

Staffing updates for 2019 are as follows:

We are pleased to confirm Mrs Sue Curran will be joining our teaching staff next year. Sue has a wealth of experience and will be a great asset to Jones Hill.

We welcome back Ms Kelly Rozynski and Mrs Natasha Hooklyn who rejoin the Jones Hill team.

Next year we farewell Mrs Loughland as she moves to Agnes Waters where her husband will take up the Principal’s role.

Mr Powell will be joining Coolum State School where he will be able to walk out of the surf and into the classroom.

Mr Matt Hammann will be enjoying retirement as he settles into Canberra and spending quality time with his grandchildren.

Mrs Fiona Cole will also be enjoying her retirement as she plans her travel with her husband and visits the sights of Australia.

Ms Debbie Coates will also be retiring to spend time with her grandchildren in Hervey Bay after a long career dedicated to Jones Hill.

Mrs Tineke Fish will move to a new LOTE (German) circuit next year as Jones Hill transitions to Japanese. Tineke has always made LOTE enjoyable for our students.

We will maintain our 17 classes in 2019. The draft structure of our classes is as below:
