Deputy Principal's Report
I will be relieving Principal for the next seven days as Mr Watt will be on leave.
I would like to congratulate Mr Impey, Mrs Luke and Mrs Thompson and their music students for presenting a very entertaining "Winter Music Soiree' on the 2nd of June. It was wonderful to have so many children performing and a huge crowd of parents to support them. Mr Watt and I were very proud of every student's performance and are looking forward to many more in the next two terms.
Thank you to all the P&C volunteers who organised and ran Friday nights Disco. It was a fun night, well attended and the student behaviour was exemplary. Another Disco will be held later in the year. Thank you again to the parents and Mr Impey for ensuring our first disco was a great event.
On Monday we thanked our cleaners for the wonderful job they do in keeping our school buildings and grounds well maintained and clean. Mrs Brennan, Mrs Kilpatrick and Mrs Chapman were treated to breakfast and a small gift from the school community to thank them for all their hard work and dedication to our school. They do a great job looking after us!

School Cleaners' Day
Yesterday was school cleaners' day. School cleaners are an integral part of our school community. They are the first to greet staff and students in the morning and the last ones that we say good bye to before we go home. Cleaners make a vital contribution to our school by ensuring the cleaning of the internal and external areas of all our buildings and also around the grounds, such as the walkways and undercover areas. They ensure there is a safe, healthy and hygienic environment for children to learn in. We thank them for their tireless and wonderful efforts.
Premier's Reading Challenge
Your child is invited to participate in the Premier's Reading Challenge. It's easy, all students have to do is read and record! Class teachers will have a School Reader Record Form so students can track the books they have completed. All students who participate will receive a book mark and Participation certificate and all students who complete the challenge will also receive a certificate signed by the Premier. This is a great way to encourage reading and a love of literature so please encourage, support and share in the reading fun with your children.
The challenge runs between May 19 and August 21.
Thanks,
Max Nord
Teacher Librarian

Brainstorm Production – "The Magic Words"
On Wednesday 22 July, Brainstorm Productions will be presenting "The Magic Words", a humorous and entertaining show about the importance of respect and good manners at school, at home and on-line.
This production is a fun way to show our children that rudeness and bad attitudes create bad feelings. Life becomes easy when you use the magic words!
"The Magic Words" has aliens, singing, dancing and lots of laughs, and will assist in creating a more pleasant and harmonious home and school environment.
The cost is $5.00 per student. Prep to 3 will go at 9:00am and the 4 to 6's will go at 11:45am. Invoices have been sent home.

We would also appreciate home baking to be sold. It can be delivered to the hall canteen on Sports Day morning. If possible please include an ingredients list with your home baking.
We also require donations for our raffle. Please leave these with the ladies in the office.
