All students who took part on the day need to be congratulated on their behaviour and sportsmanship. Well done everyone!
Australia Zoo Visit
What a great day the year 6 classes had when they visited Australia Zoo on Tuesday 1 September. Students were able to visit animal exhibits from both the Australian continent to the more exotic animals including tigers, a white rhino, lemas and Asian small clawed otters. Students were able to see these animals interact as if they were in their natural habitat. It certainly made for an engaging way for students to learn more about how animals are adapted to their environment.

Noel Stallard is Gympie born and bred. After 35 years of teaching he now takes the Bush Poetry to schools in city and country areas throughout the east coast of Australia. He is a writer and performer of bush poetry and he has a strong belief that if we want to know who we are and where we are going then we need to know who we were and where we came from; thus the importance of our Australian heritage poetry. We are lucky enough to have Noel visiting us on Monday 14 September to share some of his poetry with our students. Noel will also be working with our year 5 students to construct a poem about our wonderful and very beautiful school.

Starting prep can be a challenging time for your child but you can make the transition easier by attending our pre-prep program activities. All 2016 prep students in the Gympie area are welcome to join in our pre-prep transition program.
