LEADERSHIP TEAM REPORT
Welcome Back
Welcome back to Term 3. We hope all of our Jones Hill families, staff and students had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and are ready for a great Term 3. Over the holiday break, the new fence around the school was completed. Please note that some access points have been changed. There is no longer access for students and parents to walk in between the tennis court and the staff car park. There is a new access gate from the car park into the Prep Area and for students catching the bus, there is a new gate next to the bus shelter.
Report Cards
Your child’s report card for Semester 1, 2022, was emailed home this week, on Tuesday 12th July. The students efforts and progress with their learning has been excellent and they are to be commended on their achievements.
Sports Day
On the last day of Term 2, we had our annual Sports Day. A huge thank you goes to Mr Littler and Mr Rentz, who spent a lot of time preparing and setting up for the day. The children were very excited and had a great time competing and cheering for their house. Congratulations to Doran who won Sports Day with 2 062points, second was McPaul with 1 428 points and third went to Radford with 1 262 points. The Good Sports Award recipients were Bom and Thomas who never gave up and encouraged other students who were competing. The Age Champions was closely contested and congratulations goes to these students.

Little Koalas Playgroup
This term, Jones Hill will be running a playgroup every Wednesday. The Little Koalas Playgroup will operate every Wednesday, starting on the 20th July. Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Adamson will be running the playgroup from 2pm-3pm in the PM classroom. If you have a little person, aged 0-5 years and would like to attend the playgroup, please come along and join in the fun. If you would like more information please contact Julie Mitchell on 54 890 555.
School Opinion Surveys
The annual suite of School Opinion Surveys will be conducted in Term 3 and will close on 12 August 2022. All families, school staff and students in target year levels (5, 6, 8 and 11) will be invited to participate. We encourage you to take this opportunity to have your say about what our school does well, and how we can improve.
An invitation to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey will be emailed to one parent/caregiver per family in the week beginning 11 July. The invitation will be sent from the Department of Education, not the school, and it will have the subject line School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2022. Check your junk email folders if you can’t find it. The survey can be completed as soon as the invitation is received and will take approximately 5 minutes using a computer, tablet or smart phone.
Parents/caregivers who do not have access to the internet at home are welcome to complete their survey online at the school. School computers/tablets will be available.
Tuckshop
We would like to thank all the families that donated baked goods for Sports Day. The children and adults loved the treats and this raised $733 for the P&C.
Unfortunately, due to the cost of lettuce, this will be temporarily taken off some of the items on the tuckshop menu. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Kind Regards,

YEAR BARAMBAH 4
Just before the holidays the year 4 students went on camp to Barambah. We had two nights sleeping in cabins. The weather was very cold. Some of the things we did were whip cracking, low ropes and a walk up One Tree Hill. We learnt how to use a handsaw and went on a gold hunt. The camp was amazing and we had so much fun.
