LEADERSHIP TEAM REPORT
Hi Everyone,
It is nice to see some sunny weather this week as we work through the third week of the term.
I have just returned from a month in the Northern Territory visiting some of the amazing sights our country has to offer, from Litchfield National Park to Darwin and Kakadu. Just spectacular!
We covered over 10,000km in the four weeks and are now settling back into the rhythm of normal life again.

It is lovely to see some of the facilities projects we have had on the boil all year coming to completion. The new fence is complete with adjusted pathways. This will make for a better transition to the bus for students in the afternoon, particularly in wet and hot weather.
The staff carpark gates will be closed each day. This is a busy area as we now have 60 plus staff, many moving between schools during the day. This is not a safe area for students and parents to walk through.
The new shed on the oval is slowly taking shape as we move the PE and OSHC gear to it.
Over the break the junior toilets and year four buildings have been painted. All toilets have received air fresheners.
We continue to wait for our ANZAC Wall to be completed before we attach the plaques and centrepiece. Once completed it will be a fantastic addition to our school. I have attached a mock up in the meantime of how it may look.
During the next week we have many students participating in the Gympie and District Eisteddfod and the Gympie District Athletics Trials. We would like to wish them all the best.
School Opinion Surveys
The annual suite of School Opinion Surveys will be conducted in Term 3 and will close on 12 August 2022. All families, school staff and students in target year levels (5, 6, 8 and 11) will be invited to participate. We encourage you to take this opportunity to have your say about what our school does well, and how we can improve.
An invitation to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey was be emailed to one parent/caregiver per family in the week beginning 11 July. The invitation will be sent from the Department of Education, not the school, and it will have the subject line School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2022. Check your junk email folders if you can’t find it. The survey can be completed as soon as the invitation is received and will take approximately 5 minutes using a computer, tablet or smart phone.
Kind Regards,
James Watt - Principal
Stacey Seed – Deputy Principal

TECHNOLOGY TIME THAT IS GOOD FOR MENTAL HEALTH
Mental health apps and online resources have become a highly engaging modality that are widely available and very popular with young people. MATHS FUN
So, you think Mr Wolf can tell the time…. Well you should see 1D!
We have been learning to tell o’clock and half past time. Using our super powers of exploring and investigating clocks with hands on experiences and lots of practicing, we are now expert time tellers. We know that when the minute hand is on the 12 it is an o’clock time and when the minute hand is on the 6 is it half way around and so we say, it is half past the hour. It was tricky to learn which hour it would be for telling half past, but we can remember that if the hour hand is between two numbers, we know the hour is the number that the little hand is just passed.
It’s DINNER TIME!!!
