LEADERSHIP TEAM REPORT
Hi Everyone,
SPRING FESTIVAL
Last Friday, Jones Hill students and staff enjoyed a wonderful day of hands on, real-life learning with all activities linked to the Australian Curriculum. We welcomed community groups who shared their expertise and knowledge with the children. The activities included gardening with Bunnings, making rice paper rolls with Matt Golinski, First Nation Peoples with Nat Morgan, amazing animals with Wildlife Unleashed, Cleanaway, Gympie Regional Library, Gympie Police, Cancer Council and Competition displays in our library, making mosaic tiles, learning with the Bone Museum, the Koala Action Group and Valley Bees.
We were all fascinated by the skills shown by some of the year 6 students who performed a Drone Demonstration while the children enjoyed a picnic lunch. The Recycled Wearable Fashion Show concluded our day with some outstanding creations. Mrs Hurren’s chip packet dress and matching accessories, had the children cheering. The students received a Spring Festival bag with goodies to take home.
Thank you to the Jones Hill P&C who supported this event and the tuckshop that provided the delicious sausage sizzle lunch. Thank you to everyone involved who made the day a huge success and a lot of fun.

A whopping 2.39 million books read!
Close to 167,500 students and children from more than 940 schools and 340 early childhood centres participated in this year's Premier's Reading Challenge. What an incredible achievement by our young Queenslanders.
A big thanks goes to the teachers, parents, carers, early childhood centres and school communities for supporting their children/students throughout the year.
Jones Hill State School had every student complete the challenge either at school or at home. We have received a $300 voucher to purchase more books for our wonderful library. A big thank you goes out to all staff and families for supporting reading at Jones Hill.
