LEADERSHIP TEAM REPORT
FISHING AND FOOTY FOR LEVI
Tomorrow, Jones Hill School will hold a Fishing and Footy non-uniform day in memory of Levi Hanna. A gold coin donation will be collected in your classrooms
BLAZE HOCKEY CUP
Congratulations to the Jones Hill Hockey team who played in and won the Blaze Hockey Cup last week. All students played well and showed great team spirit and sportsmanship. From all reports it was a wonderful day all round.
CLEANAWAY
Over the next two weeks, all classes will be having a Cleanaway lesson with Chloe. Students will be learning about recycling, reusing and reducing rubbish. We are all responsible to keep our planet clean, with less rubbish going into landfill and no rubbish going into our waterways.
WILDLIFE EXCURSION
Last week the year 1s and 1/2D went on an excursion to the HQ Wildlife Sanctuary. They had a wonderful day, and saw lots of amazing animals, including koalas, emus, snakes and kangaroos. The teachers were impressed with the behaviour of our students and how excited they were to see these animals and wildlife.
ZOOPER DOOPER FUNDRAISER DONATIONS
On Monday, March 6 some of our year 5 students will be holding a Zooper Dooper fundraiser to help raise funds for students who will be attending the year 5/6 annual camp in 2024. If you would like to donate a packet or two of Zooper Doopers to help them in their venture, please drop them into the school office.
NAPLAN ONLINE
Students will be sitting NAPLAN between 15 and 27 March 2023.
NAPLAN assesses literacy and numeracy skills that students are already learning at school. On its own, NAPLAN is not a test that can be studied for, and students are not expected to do so.
NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process –it does not replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance; however, students and parents may use individual results to discuss progress with teachers.
This is the first year NAPLAN will be held in March, having previously taken place in May. This change was made so school systems would have access to results earlier in the school year, so they can be used to inform teaching and learning plans for the remainder of the year.
